For the month of December 2020, I’m setting out to become a sales expert.

It can be intimidating reviewing the long list of tasks that must be done. After finishing my project outline, I asked myself, “how am I going to be able to manage this?” Well, how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!

To achieve my goal, I decided to use Notion as a home for my project.

Building a project management system is crucial if I want to succeed this month. So, I did the following to easily map out the objectives for the month:

Getting Started

First, I used a product management template. In the template, I broke down each task and separated them into categories. By doing this, I was able to identify what categories of the project were needing to be tackled first.

From here, I added a simple task list to supplement my project page. This gives me a clear idea of which tasks are the top priority in the week ahead. Additional organization never hurts!

Tasks I Accomplished This Week:

  • I built an outline detailing the month
  • I created a landing page
  • I began reading How To Win Friends & Influence People and Economics In One Lesson
  • I scheduled interviews with four salespeople

What’s Next

This upcoming week, I will be interviewing multiple sales representatives to get a better idea of the required knowledge and skills for the role. Each person will be at different stages of their careers to understand what’s necessary at each level. I will be posting blogs summarizing the key takeaways from each with video from the interview.

Stay tuned!
